Global goals to end preventable deaths of women and children are necessarily ambitious, and they are achievable. We focus on supporting stakeholders to identify and address key bottlenecks in delivery of essential urban health services for women and children, most notably the poor and hard-to-reach. Our approach leverages and integrates local resources — public, private, and civil society — to expand access to quality, high impact services along the care continuum.

• Urban primary health care centres can effectively be integrated with MNCH, Nutrition, Water and Sanitation programmes to better meet patients and community needs.
• Urban primary health centres are struggling with capacity barriers, financial barriers and low manpower.
• Private health care opportunities are available and can be integrated with primary health care with strategic financing and sustainable health care services purchasing mechanism.
• Opportunities can be explored to integrate primary health care with mother and child health care with other public health services through private sector investment and leveraging through community participation.
• Build partnerships for team capacity and skill development, leveraging of financial resources, up gradation of clinical care and advocacy.
