Dr. Deepika Anand is engaged in teaching and research. Currently a faculty member (Assistant Professor) with the Institute of Home Economics, University of Delhi has a doctorate in Nutrition (research area: Nutrition in HIV/AIDS) from University of Delhi and has also done a diploma in Nutrition and Health Education from IGNOU. She is also UGC-NET qualified researcher who received Junior and Senior Research fellowship to complete her doctoral thesis. She is also serving on part-time basis as Assistant Coordinator for M.Sc program on Nutrition for IGNOU.
She has over 7 years of work experience and has worked with prestigious organizations like –The World Bank – STC – co-authored an institutional capacity assessment report for the Bank on assessing the capacity of systems delivering nutrition services in India. She was also involved in the multi-sectoral nutrition project with the Bank, operational in Bihar.
She has also worked with Food and Agriculture organization as Research Associate and was engaged in knowledge management, Food and Nutrition Security Community of the Solution Exchange. Completed the baseline and end line study on people living with HIV/AIDS in Orissa as a consultant of World Food Programme. Worked with WHO as consultant for a short term assignment.
Deepika has published a number of publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals like Journal of Health, Population and Nutrition; Indian Journal of Community Medicine, Journal of Knowledge Management, Agriculture Today. She has also contributed to a chapter on Nutrition and Cancer published by the Cancer Patients Aid Association, India. She contributed to over 40 knowledge products related to nutrition during her association with the FNS community, FAO. She is a life-time member of Nutrition Society of India (NSI).
