Dr. Ghosh has more than thirty five years of experience in food security, nutrition, natural resources, institutions and rural livelihoods. As a Fulbright Scholar (Hubert Humphrey North - South Fellow) he studied Public Administration and International Agriculture Development from University of California, Davis. Last 15 years he was with FAO, New Delhi as Assistant Country Representative, responsible for programme and development planning, strategy, knowledge management and communication across, agriculture, forestry, fisheries, water and climate change. He was associated with many National Programmes and Institutes of repute - FAO's global Reform Process, Operation Flood, Edible Oils, SAFAL fruit & Vegetable project, National Agriculture Policy, South Asia Pro-poor Livestock policy (SAPPLPP), NDDB, NCDC, Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India, among others.
He holds PhD Degree in Rural Economics and Cooperation from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, Agra, Master’s programme in Agronomy from G.B.Pant University and Technology, Pantnagar, Uttar Pradesh, PG Diploma in Marketing Management, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and Bachelor of Science ( Honours in Agriculture) from Visva- Bharati University, Santiniketan.
He has to his credit many articles in national and international journals on agriculture policy, food security, nutrition, cooperatives, citizen’s participation and development, planning with local resources and application of ICT in agriculture. Widely travelled in different parts of the world and lived different remote locations of the country. He promotes creativity and innovation, believes in lifelong learning and practices yoga, poetry and music in life as a part of social and cultural harmony.
